The Underground Railroad Conductor by Tom Calarco: A Guide for Eastern New York
Paperback ISBN: 0-9742993-0-8
107 pages with 42 photos, 21 maps, and 8 illustrations
The Underground Railroad Conductor is the first book to publish the story of the Underground Railroad in northeastern New York, and the first attempt to map out its routes. It contains much information that cannot be found in published form anywhere. It is an especially useful tool for the student, and a chapter with tips on researching the Underground Railroad is included. In addition, there are road maps and directions to the legendary sites, which can be used to plan field trips. While it can stand alone as a rich source of information, it also serves as an introduction to Tom Calarco's larger hardcover, The Underground Railroad in the Adirondack Region, published by McFarland and Company, Inc., which can be ordered by calling 1-800-253-2187.
